Double Gap Clad has two gaps, that much is obvious but I’ll explain it anyway. Between each board we engineer a space, a precise line of negative space, otherwise known as a gap. We then come back and etch a matching groove in the center of the board, giving the look of two gaps. The effect is narrower boards and lots of them. The look is linear, full on. Typically used for call-out moments such as entryways, bathrooms, wainscoting, or cabinetry. Lately however, we’re starting to see it for a full exterior wrap. Bold and chatty yet elegant and reserved, the Double Gap Clad is impressive and memorable. A Very Important Clad. Likes to hang out with Gap Clad.

Douglas-fir is the workhorse of the materials world. A gentle giant, friend to all. Which is why Douglas-fir is the perfect bridge between any existing material, color, or texture you might have in your home. Nobody minds adding in some Douglas-fir. And because our Douglas-fir is old-growth, the grain is tight, the wood is strong, and there is longevity embedded within. Grounded yet playful, Douglas-fir has seen it all and holds no grudges.

Double Gap Clad is available in 7”, 5” and 3” (shown here) widths in either Douglas-fir or Redwood, clean face (shown here) or original patina. Tongue & groove joinery. Can come accented by brush and sealant.
