The Canoe

The Canoe was the first design in the collection. With is tapered ends, smooth belly and long oval top, we see a true shape, a shape that is just meant to be on earth, like a branch arcing off the tree or the gentle roll of a meadow. It is a slice of melon, a loaf of bread. It is a curled back, an embracing arm, half open eyes. It is as known to us as ourselves.

The Canoe can be made in custom lengths and is available in century-old Douglas-fir, reclaimed in the Pacific Northwest and sealed with a plant-based oil.
